First. We stink. - Mr.Bobby
Don't worry, the Ducks stink too |

Taylor Hall gets his first goal tonight. I foresee a multi point game tonight for him and a Devils win. |

I would like to see Zajac & Henrique swapped out.
Hall, Henrique, Parenteau.
Cammy, Zajac & Palmieri. |

The ducks have played great. Here's a post from Spectors Hockey in a discussion we were having this AM.
"I wonder if Fox actually watched any of Anaheim’s games. 3 games in 4 nights all on the road & not just missing Lindholm but Rackell 1 of their best forwards.
In game 1 they seriously outplayed Dallas. Anaheim’s 4th line got spit out by Dallas’s 4th line, the dreaded Adam Cracknell. Raymond was a goat on 1 of those goals. Got him a ticket to the AHL essentially. Gibson was terrible.
Game 2. 3-2 loss to Pittsburgh. Played great again Bernier stood on his head but Fleury was even better.
Game 3. Back to back after playing Saturday night in Pittsburgh 3-2 OT loss to NYI. Played very well again but Gibson wasn’t very good again. Halak played great.
I’ve given my opinion on Gibson several times. Gibson cost Anaheim last season in the playoffs. His getting the 1st 2 starts doomed Anaheim. I’m not a Gibson fan, he can’t stay healthy, he has games where he’s lights out others where is beyond brutal. Reminds me of Lehtonen. I think Anaheim traded the wrong goalie.
Bernier will claw a ton of starts away from Gibson this season & when Gibson gets injured he may well play more games when all is said & done.
I don’t think Anaheim being 0-2-1 out of the gate provides any leverage for Lindholm. Murray isn’t going to judge his current roster based on 3 road games in 4 nights travelling all the way to the East coast. D wasn’t the problem."
The only thing NJ has going for them is they get a very tired team playing it's 4th game in 6 nights having traveled all the way across the country to do so.
Anheim 4 NJ 2. |

IF the 4th line has been getting creamed I'm not sure JJ and Boucher are the answer. I'd rather see Boucher-Fiddler-D S-P with JJ on the third (although with Bennett and Zacha that might be a problem too). Ultimately I think we are better off with Kalinin in the bottom 6 then JJ whenever Sergei becomes available.
But whatever. GO DEVILS. |

Let's just send down santini and wood who obviously need a year of seasoning in the AHL and send speers back to juniors before we stunt their development |

Shouldn't they at least just look at Santini in a game first? I mean he's only one year younger then Severson. |

@Queenie5hole
I thought santini played in the first game? Anyways, I'm not opposed to playing santini a few games to see what he has, but if we're not gonna play him, why let him waste away on the bench and kill his confidence? Makes no sense.

Santini was reported to be playing game 1 but did not. Hynes (per fire and ice blog) said he wants to get Santini in but Severson and Auvitu have played well and he doesn't want to take them out. IDK why he wouldn't put Santini in for Moore or Lovejoy... but regardless I agree with you. I think they'll get him a game and then ship him down to Albany unless he's clearly a keeper.
Frankly I really really like Auvitu and I'm hopeful with Severson but the D really needs an impact player. Would love to score Shattenkirk and I wouldn't mind overpaying St. Louis and Kevin a bit to get it done. |

Yeah, I'd give Santini a shot over lovejoy at this point. There's been no joy in watching lovejoy in a devils uniform so far. Highly disappointed in him so far. As far as severson, he's gonna be great one day, he's just so young still and growing. I believe him and Santini will lead the defense for years to come.
As far as Auvitu, I'm really liking the guy too. What an underrated signing by Shero. I believe he's only going to get better as well as he gets accustomed to the NHL. Would be great if we could land Shattenkirk somehow. An elite puck moving defensemen such as himself could take this team to another level. Not sure what the exact cost would be. My bet is they hold on to him for the season and lose him for nothing in free agency. It would hurt their chances at a deep playoff run if they traded him. |

Incredible play by Fowler. Hall is moving his feet well. If he keeps it up, he's going to get one. |
